Founded in 1971, the club started racing at Horsham Showgrounds in December 1973. Horsham Greyhound Club also hosts races every Tuesday afternoon and other days on a regular basis (approx. 70 meetings per annum). Our Cup meeting held annually over the long weekend in March
The Horsham Greyhound Racing Club was formed in 1971 and started hosting race meetings at the Horsham Showgrounds from December 1973.
Racing at Horsham was a regular Monday night attraction in the early days for the community and today holds races every Tuesday afternoon, plus additional meetings as required. The Club hosts it’s Cup meeting over the long weekend in March on a track which is widely regarded as one of Australia’s best.
Major rennovations to the track took place in 2016 which triggered a process of significant investment in the site by GRV, the Club, local Council and the Victorian State Government. Projects include new work shed and yards, revamped works yard and emptying yards including shade sails, new lighting on track, asphalt sealing sealing of public areas and landscaping.
The Club continues to plan to invest in the Showgrounds to build upon this important community asset.
The Horsham Greyhound Racing Club is deeply Focused on supporting the local community with events and fundraisers.
Over 30 local community and sporting groups are supported by us, and in excesss of $40,000 is given through our Community Grants Program in recent years.
Various sporting clubs and community groups are also supported via free, or subsidied, hire of facilities for events and fundraising
